Clark Water marks 15 years of service
Clark Water Corporation, a subsidiary of East Zone concessionaire Manila Water Company, recently celebrated fifteen years of providing quality water and used water services to locators and residents of Clark Freeport and Clark Special Economic Zone.
In its anniversary celebration, Clark Water President and Manila Water Philippine Venture Chief Executive Officer Virgilio C. Rivera, Jr. emphasized the company’s vital role in assisting the Freeport and Economic Zone fulfill its water needs as it endeavors to transform Clark into a premier service logistics hub by year 2020.
“With Clark’s transformation, projected water demand in the next five years will escalate to 62 million liters per day (MLD) from the current 42 MLD. It is our mission to provide sustainable high quality water supply and used water services to our customers,” said Rivera.
Clark Water marked its 15th year by boosting its operational preparedness through signing a P1.15 billion term loan with Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) to support its CAPEX programs, and by providing an additional supply of six MLD utilizing three newly-constructed deepwells.
As of present, the subsidiary of Manila Water Philippine Ventures delivers safe and potable water to almost 2,000 connections, 6.8% of which are industrial customers. The company has also successfully reduced system loss in its service area from 55% in 2000 to an average of 4.03 for the year 2015. It has also increased its supply capacity by more than 300% from 12 million liters per day (MLD) in 2000 to 45.5 MLD while consistently complying with the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW) registering an average of 99% compliance as compared to the acceptable minimum standard of 95%. Furthermore, Clark Water has improved used water collection and treatment capacity from zero during pre-concession period to approximately 27 MLD.
As a fitting commemoration of Clark’s fifteen years, the company also gave recognition to eleven of its employees who showed excellence and exemplary performance in operations and management.
