DC’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Finds its Hawkman in Falk Hentschel

Hawkman_v4_1 “Legends of Tomorrow,” which is slated to premiere on The CW this coming mid-season, has found its Hawkman. Actor Falk Hentschel, whose TV credits include Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Reckless, has been cast in the role of Carter Hall, a.k.a. Hawkman.

The character will be introduced first on two of DC’s shows in the same network — “Arrow” and “The Flash,” before heading the third superhero series on The CW. The crossover episodes are expected to run as a new TV season opens in the fall.

Carter Hall, as legends have it in the comic book series, is a reincarnated Egyptian Prince, who has the powers of Horus, the hawk god. Thus, he can transform as a superhero warrior with wings named Hawkman.

“Legends of Tomorrow,” which was actually spun from “Arrow” and “The Flash” will star Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Caity Lotz (Sara Lance/White Canary), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory, Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm), and Franz Drameh (Jay Jackson), as Entertainment Weekly has reported. All these characters first appeared in their parent series before moving on to lead a new series.

The show features both heroes and villains brought together to work and defeat the Vandal Savage.  Arthur Darvill also joins the cast as Rip Hunter who rounds up all these men and women with super abilities to work for him.
