‘Heroes Reborn’ Update: Dylan Bruce from ‘Orphan Black’ Joins the Series Revival

Heroes Reborn

In case you haven’t heard, the NBC supernatural series “Heroes” that aired a few years back is getting another shot. If you recall, the show was cancelled after four seasons. But the network is reviving the series with “Heroes: Reborn,” which is categorized as a mini-series. It will be set to run this coming fall season.
The reborn series will bring back Noah Bennet (played by Jack Coleman) and The Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis), who are from the original show. There’s also news that Greg Grunberg and Masi Oka have agreed to reprise their role.

But the reboot will feature a lot of new characters played foremost by the former star of “Chuck,” Zachary Levi, who is tasked to play the role of Luke Collins. He will be joined by a string of other cast members like Henry Zebrowski, Ryan Guzman, Gatlin Green, Robbie Kay, Judith Shekoni, Kiki Sukezane, Danika Yarosh and Rya Kihlstedt.

Now comes the news that “Orphan Black’s” Dylan Bruce is also joining the series, signifying that things are cooking up really nicely for this show! Having just recently been killed off in his former series, this news comes as a welcome surprise for fans of the actor and “Orphan Black.” Like most of the actors already cast, details on what his characters’ powers are have been kept under wraps.

Back then, “Heroes” was ground breaking for television. There had been nothing quite like it yet. It was like TV’s own version of the “X-men” and the show was stylized to appeal to a lot of comic book fans. The series could be credited to opening the doors wider for other comic book superheroes teams dominating TV today, such as “Agents of Shield,”  “Gotham,” “Arrow” and “The Flash.”

Below is the official synopsis for “Heroes: Reborn,” which is technically “Heroes Season 5”

From original creator Tim Kring, the supernatural phenomenon begins again with a fresh crop of inspiring heroes who take on the ultimate struggle between those with extraordinary abilities and those with nefarious motives to hunt and harness their powers. Epic adventures await these newly empowered allies as they cross paths with some of the original characters (such as the beloved “HRG” and fan-favorite time-traveler Hiro Nakamura), unlocking the mysterious fate of the universe and their place within it. The cast of “Heroes Reborn” includes Jack Coleman, Zachary Levi, Masi Oka, Judith Shekoni, Robbie Kay, Henry Zebrowski, Kiki Sukezane, Ryan Guzman, Danika Yarosh, Toru Uchikado, Eve Harlow and Gatlin Green.
