For Floyd Mayweather Jr., he could care less about keeping his training methods secret.

The undefeated boxer’s approach towards his scheduled tiff with Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao seems to be the opposite considering Manny Pacquiao and his camp are preparing behind closed doors to keep the Filipino-lawmaker in focus.

Mayweather isn’t shy to show off how he trains. And the latest training method that Mayweather seems to be doing is a technique that brings to mind Rocky Balboa. The technique? Wood chopping.

The American boxer posted on Instagram a video of his wood chopping training without the background music and the guarding Russians around!

Anyway, wood chipping is an unusual technique by boxers to build strength and explosiveness and it appears that Mayweather is doing just that.

So with that in mind, is Mayweather aiming for a knockout (or at least a knockdown) to make a statement? Well, why else would he resort to such a technique?

The scene is something that brings into mind Rocky IV. To recall, Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) trained in the cold region of Russia in quite an unorthodox manner in preparation for a drug-enhanced freak called Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren).

Despite the release of the said training method, Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum believes that a knockout doesn’t come on strength alone. For him, it is all about positioning and timing which is exactly what Pacquiao’s camp is trying to do as they try to hand Mayweather his first boxing career loss.

With the training methods currently being applied by both Mayweather and Pacquiao, the fight may not be boring after all. That is if they are brave enough to take the risk of going for the KO!

Prior to these, many had believed that the upcoming May 2 bout to be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas was going to be a game of cat and mouse. Floyd was expected to run and Pacquiao expected to try and catch him.

But if this is the case, a knockout (rare if not impossible as it may seem) could happen. Do you believe that there would be a knockout or knockdown happening at least? Would love to hear your thoughts!
