After a deliberate and rigorous week-long screening process, Mrs. Stella Marquez Araneta and the officials of Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) are proud to announce the 40 official candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2018. With the final screening happening on Jan. 15, and the official numbering the following day at Kia Theatre, this year’s roster of Binibinis were finally chosen.

Bitcoin price rally continues as a new split approaches

Bitcoin price jumped on Wednesday after the developers called off the upcoming hard fork. The world’s largest cryptocurrency hit a fresh record high of $7,848.31 on Wednesday, according to industry website CoinDesk. The controversial software upgrade called SegWit2x, which would have split bitcoin in two, is expected to take effect in mid-November.

SAP SE today announced the appointment of Edler Panlilio as the Managing Director for SAP Philippines, Inc. In this new role, Edler will be responsible for leading and driving business growth and operations in the Philippines, building on the 22-year establishment of SAP in the country. He will report directly to Claus Andresen, President and Managing Director of SAP Southeast Asia.

Peace groups highlight plight of displaced civilians, ‘bakwit’ voices in Marawi standoff

Dubbed“Kambabid-babid” a Maranao term for “intertwining” or “Kapit-bisig” – the essence of neighbors reaching out to each other in trying times—civil society from Mindanao, Luzon and Visayas, composed mainly of peace and human rights organizations, conducted a solidarity and peace mission in Marawi City from June 20-21 to express empathy and listen to the untold stories of affected communities and evacuees displaced by the continuing armed conflict between government armed forces and combined elements of the Maute and Abu Sayyaf groups.
