Reigning girls champion National University completed a six-match first round sweep, while Adamson University gained a piece of the No. 2 spot Friday in the UAAP Season 81 high school volleyball tournament at the Blue Eagle Gym.

Faith Nisperos had 13 points as the Bullpups kept their perfect record with a 25-12, 25-19, 25-13 romp of University of the East.

Behind Kate Santiago’s 21-point outing, the Baby Falcons outlasted University of Santo Tomas, 16-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-10.

Adamson University improved to 4-2 and later tied De La Salle-Zobel in second place after Far Eastern University scored a 25-20, 25-14, 22-25, 25-23 victory over the Junior Lady Spikers.

The Baby Tamaraws ended first round in a tie with the Junior Tigresses in fourth place with a 3-3 record.

The Junior Warriors, for their part, fell at 1-5.
