Colin Firth is going to be in the “Mary Poppins” sequel, which will be headlined by Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The actor is going to play the part of a bank executive named William Weatherall Wilkins.

“Mary Poppins Returns” has also cast Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer as the grown Banks kids, Michael and Jane, who were wards of Mary Poppins. According to Variety, the movie will be set 25 years following the original version and the children will be revisted by the their nanny.

As Emily Blunt plays the titular character, Miranda will play a friend named Jack, who works as a street lamplighter. There have also been reports that Meryl Streep is also going to be in the movie as the cousin of Mary Poppins.

Emily Blunt is said to be quite excited about “Mary Poppins” since it’s something that her daughters will be able to enjoy. But she knows she can never measure up to as Julie Andrews, who played the role in the 1960s version.

“They’re some big shoes to fill. When I said I was taking it on, my friend said to me, “Wow. You’ve got balls of steel.” I was like, “Don’t say that! It makes it scarier,” the actress said, per Pop Sugar.  Nonetheless, Julie Andrews is thrilled that Emily Blunt was picked for the part and has nothing but good words for the actress.

The sequel will be directed by Rob Marshall and is expected in theaters on Dec. 25, 2018.
