A 38-Year Wait Ends With a Bold 3D Reboot
Celebrating the triumphant return of the iconic Truxton series, Truxton Extreme is an all-new entry, marking the first new Truxton title in 38 years. The arcade original debuted in 1988 and quickly cemented its legacy as one of the genre’s greats, thanks to its bombastic weaponry and adrenaline-fueled gameplay.
Returning for the first time with fully rendered 3D graphics and mind-blowing boss battles, original Truxton mastermind Masahiro Yuge once again evolves the genre, presenting a new take on a solid-gold classic. The reboot brings the series into a new era while staying true to what made it a genre staple decades ago.
Truxton Extreme features multiple game modes for fans old and new alike:
- Story – Combining action and comics, Story Mode takes players through the main game to unlock episodes, read comics, and clear shmup stages.
- Arcade – In true arcade style, Arcade Mode is pure unrelenting action in which players clear all stages in sequence.
- Heart Starter – A more forgiving mode recommended for beginners, allowing players to recover from enemy hits and avoid losing lives even after mistakes.
- Team – Two-player co-op lets players take on the Geranium invasion together, sharing bombs, lives, and scores while rescuing each other.
- Arena – A two-minute time trial challenging players to defeat as many enemies as possible for the highest score.
- Pipiruville – Defeating enemies rescues Pipiru aliens, letting players unlock and develop their own village over time.
Multiple Editions Give Fans Options, From Budget to Collector’s Dream
