Clear River Games has announced a major expansion for the iconic Cotton franchise, confirming that both Cotton Reboot! and Cotton Reboot! High Tension!! will launch on October 22, 2026. The releases will be available in both physical and digital formats across multiple platforms.
The announcement continues the publisher’s focus on reviving classic and retro gaming titles for modern audiences. Fans of the long-running series will once again step into the whimsical world of Cotton, the witch who helped define the “cute ‘em up” genre.
Classic Series Returns
Cotton Reboot! reintroduces the beloved 1991 franchise with updated presentation options designed for both new players and long-time fans. Players will be able to experience the game in HD or switch to the original X68000 visual style.
The game also offers audio customization, allowing players to choose between the original soundtrack or a remixed version. This approach aims to preserve nostalgia while modernizing accessibility on platforms such as Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5.
Gameplay retains its simple-to-learn but difficult-to-master structure, continuing Cotton’s tradition as a mascot-driven shooter built around charm, challenge, and fast-paced action.
High Tension Expansion
