LUSAKA, Zambia – Hyatt is expanding in Africa with the Hyatt Regency Lusaka The Pamodzi, marking the debut of the Hyatt Regency brand in Zambia. The historic Pamodzi Hotel will undergo renovations while remaining open, with a planned reopening in 2026. Guests and World of Hyatt members will be able to earn and redeem points while enjoying luxury accommodations in Lusaka.

Hyatt partners with Albwardy Investments for luxury in Lusaka

Hyatt signed a management agreement with ASB Hotel Properties and Albwardy Investments (Pamodzi Hotels PLC) to rebrand the property. Stephen Ansell, Managing Director for Middle East and Africa at Hyatt, said, “We are thrilled to bring the Hyatt Regency brand to Zambia in 2026. This milestone reflects our commitment to expanding Hyatt’s presence in Africa and offering travelers new destinations under our Classics Portfolio.”

Ali Albwardy, Chairman of Albwardy Investments, added, “The Pamodzi Hotel has been a landmark in Lusaka for decades. Through this renovation and rebranding, we aim to provide a world-class hotel experience for both business and leisure travelers, reflecting our dedication to Africa’s hospitality sector.”

Hyatt Regency Lusaka The Pamodzi will feature 170 guestrooms and suites with modern décor and thoughtful design. Meeting and event spaces will cater to conferences, business gatherings, and private events.

The hotel is centrally located near Lusaka’s business district and attractions, including the Lusaka National Museum. Wildlife experiences such as Lusaka National Park and the Elephant Orphanage Project are only 30 minutes away, making the property ideal for both leisure and business travelers.
