Green GSM and Xentro Motors have joined forces to expand sustainable transport in the Philippines through the deployment of 2,000 VinFast electric vehicles that will operate across Metro Manila and other key cities.

The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of understanding that sets the stage for the rollout of the Green Xentro fleet under the Green GSM platform. The first 1,000 VinFast Nerio Green units have already been secured, with the remaining 1,000 expected to arrive within two years. The fleet will feature Green GSM’s signature cyan color and will be used in ride-hailing operations once regulatory clearances and accreditation are completed.

Electric fleet to serve Metro Manila and major cities

The new fleet aims to make eco-friendly mobility more accessible to Filipino commuters. VinFast vehicles are known for their quiet operation, zero tailpipe emissions, and passenger comfort, offering an alternative to traditional fuel-powered cars. Operations will initially focus on Metro Manila before expanding to other urban centers.

To support the rollout, Xentro Motors will open its nationwide Xentro Malls network for charging stations, parking, and designated pick-up zones. This strategy aims to create convenient access points for both passengers and drivers, while integrating sustainability into the group’s retail and property ecosystem.

Partnership boosts EV adoption

Green GSM began rolling out its all-electric ride-hailing service in the Philippines earlier this year and is building partnerships to accelerate EV adoption while staying aligned with local transport regulations. By teaming up with Xentro Motors, the company hopes to strengthen its presence and encourage more communities to embrace electric mobility.

The partnership also taps into VinFast’s service infrastructure, including maintenance and charging support, to keep the fleet efficient and operational. Both companies said the move reflects a shared commitment to cleaner transport and aims to set a benchmark for future collaborations in the country’s growing EV sector.
