Republic of Korea Navy P-3C patrol aircraft upgraded with Get SAT satellite systems
The Republic of Korea Navy has taken a major step in modernizing its long-range intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) fleet with the successful upgrade of two P-3C maritime patrol aircraft. The project was carried out through a partnership between Get SAT, KT SAT, KAI Networks, and R4 Integration, delivering advanced satellite communication systems designed to enhance operational readiness and connectivity.
The P-3C, a versatile platform used for anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, and ISR missions, is central to South Korea’s maritime security. This latest upgrade is part of a wider effort to strengthen airborne connectivity across the Navy’s 16-aircraft fleet, ensuring persistent command-and-control capabilities in critical missions.

Lightweight Get SAT terminal powers next-gen connectivity
At the core of the enhancement is Get SAT’s Milli H LW Ku-band terminal, a compact and low-profile solution tailored for beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) communications. Measuring just 33×37 cm and weighing 10.2 kg, the terminal is engineered for legacy aircraft upgrades without compromising performance.
The integration was achieved through R4 Integration’s hatch-mount solution, specifically adapted for the P-3C platform. This approach minimized structural impact on the aircraft while maximizing ease of deployment, ensuring seamless compatibility with existing systems.
By linking with KT SAT’s satellite network, the system now provides real-time data links and continuous connectivity for crews, significantly improving situational awareness and operational flexibility during maritime patrol operations.
Industry collaboration delivers enhanced mission capability
The project highlights the importance of international defense collaboration, combining the strengths of multiple industry leaders to support the Republic of Korea Navy.
“This successful deployment demonstrates the agility and global reach of Get SAT’s airborne SATCOM solutions,” said Kfir Benjamin, CEO of Get SAT. “Together with KT SAT, KAI Networks, and R4, we’ve delivered a rugged, high-throughput communication system that significantly improves the operational capabilities of the ROK Navy’s patrol aircraft.”
Mr. Seo, CEO of KT SAT, echoed this sentiment: “We are proud to have partnered with Get SAT and R4 Integration to bring this high-performance communication upgrade to the P-3C platform. This project represents an important step forward for Korea’s airborne mission capabilities and highlights the value of international collaboration in defense innovation.”
John Parsley, President of R4 Integration, added: “Our hatch-mount solution is designed for fast integration with minimal impact to the aircraft, and we are pleased to see it supporting critical missions for the Republic of Korea Navy. Working alongside Get SAT, KT SAT, and KAI Networks was a great example of how industry partnerships accelerate operational readiness.”
With this upgrade, the Republic of Korea Navy reinforces its ability to safeguard its maritime domain and enhance regional stability through advanced satellite-enabled operations.
