Football Heroes League, the high-energy, free-to-play soccer game from Run Games, officially kicks off version 1.0 on September 16, 2025, expanding beyond PC to PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The announcement came during The MIX’s June showcase, revealing the game’s full multiplatform debut and an all-new trailer.

Set in a near-future where soccer reigns supreme, Football Heroes League infuses traditional football tactics with the flair of superhero powers and arcade-style gameplay. Players take to the pitch in 2v2, 3v3, or 5v5 multiplayer matches—both casual and ranked—using a rotating roster of tech-enhanced heroes with wild abilities.

Superhuman skills meet strategic soccer

Whether it’s Bun-E’s robotic rabbits blocking shots, Frostine gliding across the field on an ice slide, or Kenzo blasting a flaming bicycle kick, each hero offers a unique way to dominate. These powers combine with intuitive passing, tackling, and shooting mechanics to deliver a fast-paced, tactical experience unlike any other soccer game.

Players can access the game for free with rotating heroes, or purchase a Founder’s Pack to unlock all current and future characters. Skins, emotes, and cosmetics are all earnable through gameplay, maintaining a zero pay-to-win approach.

Arcade-style spectacle with global accessibility

Run Games’ president Michael Marzola shared that Football Heroes League was born from a lifelong passion for the sport. “We wanted to take what we love about soccer – the tactics and excitement and spectacle of it – and combine it with our love of arcade sports games and hero shooters,” he said. “Soccer is for everybody, and we think this is a perfect way for old-school fans and newcomers alike to enjoy it together.”

Upon launch, the game will support text in 11 languages, including English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Polish, and Korean.

Football Heroes League is currently available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store and will officially hit consoles worldwide on September 16, 2025.
