Iloilo’s Go For Gold Race Series partners with 2GO Travel
2GO Travel, the Philippines’ leading sea travel provider, has been named the official travel partner of Go For Gold Philippines for the fifth leg of the Go For Gold Race Series, set to take place from May 30 to June 1 in Passi City, Iloilo.
As part of this strategic collaboration, 2GO Travel is offering exclusive all-in sea travel rates tailored specifically for race participants and their teams. This includes travel from Manila to Iloilo on May 27, and a return trip from Roxas to Batangas on June 3, with generous 50kg baggage allowances and waived sports equipment handling fees—a major benefit for cyclists traveling with bikes and gear.
“We are excited to support Go For Gold Philippines in empowering local cycling athletes and fueling interest in this rapidly growing sport,” said Roland Sunga, 2GO Travel AVP for F&B, Ancillary, and Hotel Operations. “By providing affordable and reliable sea travel, we’re not just moving people—we’re helping advance Philippine sports, one race at a time, one island at a time.”

Supporting Philippine Cycling
The Go For Gold Race Series is a flagship initiative of Go For Gold Philippines, focused on cultivating homegrown cycling talent by hosting events across the archipelago. With each leg, the series provides aspiring athletes the opportunity to gain exposure, accumulate competition points, and build their careers in a structured, high-level environment.
This particular leg in Iloilo is expected to draw cycling teams from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, making travel logistics a crucial component of participation.
“This partnership with 2GO Travel makes our Race Series more accessible and allows even more athletes to experience competitive cycling,” said Jeremy Randell Go, Head of Go For Gold Philippines. “We believe that supporting Filipino talent begins by breaking down logistical barriers—and 2GO’s support helps us do exactly that.”
Growing Role in Sports Tourism
2GO Travel’s involvement with Go For Gold underscores the company’s increasing presence in sports tourism. Earlier this year, the travel giant announced a major partnership with Sunrise Events, Inc. for the upcoming Ironman 70.3 Lapu-Lapu City Leg in August, further solidifying its reputation as the go-to travel partner for sporting events in the country.
Equipped with modern sea vessels, comfortable accommodations, and athlete-friendly baggage policies, 2GO is making sea travel a practical, affordable, and dependable option for sports teams, event organizers, and tourism stakeholders across the Philippines.
