‘The Last Man on Earth’ Gets a 2nd Season on FOX
FOX’s quirky comedy series starring Will Forte has been given a second season. The show, which only kicked off in January 2015, has become one of the network’s top-rating comedy series and is a hit for its key demographic.
“The Last Man on Earth” follows an unusual premise. It centers on Phil Miller (Forte), who finds himself alone in the world after a virus outbreak in the year 2020. After looking around and failing to find survivors, Phil thought he’s doomed to be the lone person on Earth forever and attempts to end his life. However, he eventually meets Carol (Kristen Schaal), and realizes they may be the only two people left on Earth. They marry and decide to copulate, but then Melissa (January Jones) arrives, followed by Todd (Mel Rodriguez) and things started getting crazier.
“We knew we had something special with The Last Man on Earth. It’s one of those rare shows that continues to add depth and dimension to its unique premise, week after week. We are so thrilled that this incredibly bold, original and inventive series has been embraced by both fans and critics, and we cannot wait to see where the creative genius and inspired vision of Will, Phil and Chris take us in season two,” said David Madden, FOX’s president in a press release published on various news outlets.
It is still unsure if there will be cast changes for the second season. But for now, the show will continue to air the rest of the first season’s remaining episodes before it begins production for Season 2.
