‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ Cast News: Lea Salonga to Appear and Sing In Season Finale
Broadway superstar and Tony Awards winner Lea Salonga is going to guest star in the season finale of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.” The musical comedy stars Rachel Bloom, who was just named Best Actress at the Golden Globes Sunday.
Bloom confirmed Salonga’s appearance via Entertainment Weekly. The news outlet said the actress revealed the details of the finale at the Golden Globes backstage.
“One of our characters happens to be Filipino so when we realized no one else had even made the effort to show a Filipino family on an American comedy, it taught me a lot about Filipino culture,” said Bloom. “It’s also taught me really about how important diversity is, if you want to tell a new story.”
Meanwhile, Salonga already tweeted that she will be on “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” and confirmed that she is also singing on the show.
“I guess the news is out!!! I’ll be appearing on the season finale of @CW_CrazyXGF! And singing, too! How fun is that?!” wrote the star.

“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” is a story about a promising Manhattan lawyer, Rebecca Bunch (Bloom), who moves to West Covina, California to follow ex-boyfriend Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III), who is a Filipino-American.
It also stars , Santino Fontana as Greg Serrano, Donna Lynne Champlin as Paula Proctor, Pete Gardner as Darryl Whitefeather and Vella Lovell as Heather Davis.
The show airs Mondays on The CW and will resume from its winter hiatus Jan. 25
