Payne is the 14th overall pick of the 2015 NBA draft. He has spent his career playing for the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, and OKC Thunder.
The 6-3 guard appeared in 40 games last season and averaged 6.3 PPG and 2.7 APG.
He has not yet suited up this year after playing briefly for the Chinese Basketball Association and then being in the G-League.
The Suns are 13th in the Western Conference with a 26-39 record but will still travel to Orlando for NBA’s season restart.
They are only 6 games out of the playoffs and will need to be just 4 games behind the 8th seed to force a play-in tournament against the 8th seed.
