MPBL: Knights stake unblemished record against Capitals
The streaking San Juan Knights aim for win No. 8 when they tangle with the Quezon City Capitals on Monday (August 5) in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Season at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Game time is at 8:30 p.m., with the Knights, champion of the MPBL Datu Cup, trying to keep their clean slate and top spot against the Capitals, who tote a 4-3 card.

The Knights were tested to the limit by the Bataan Risers before pulling off an 87-79 overtime victory on July 27 at Ibalong Centrum for Recreation in Legaspi City.
Skywalkers Mike Ayonayon and Jhonard Clarito will again be at the forefront of the Knights’ charge together with former pros John Wilson, Mac Cardona and Larry Rodriguez.
The Athletics, the inaugural MPBL Rajah Cup titlist, are on a two-game roll, but must be wary of the Voyagers, who are riding the, momentum of an 83-78 conquest of the Bacolod Strikers on August 1.
Spearheaded by Jhaymo Eguilos and Jeff Viernes, the Athletics have a 3-1 slate, while the Voyagers, powered by Jan Jamon and Raymund Ilagan, are at 4-5.
Toting a 3-5 card, the Cagers are favored over the MiGuard, who are reeling from five straight defeats after an initial victory over the Marikina Shoemasters.
