PH, China to boost Asian boxing
Games & Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman Abraham Mitra, International Boxing Federation (IBF) China President Ruihang Wang and Rejoy International Holdings (Beijing) Co. Ltd. Sr. Vice Pres. Andrew Lu signed a five-year tripartite agreement recently to boost Asian boxing.
The agreement which was reviewed by Gab legal mandates Rejoy Holdings to organize friendly matches, training camps for boxers from China & the Philippines and hold IBF Silk Road Champions Tournaments. On the other hand, the China IBF will host the matches, camps & the championships. For its part, the GAB will provide a list of high-level boxers, judges, referees, coaches and trainers that will actively participate. “Everyone is focused on pushing Asian boxers, specifically from the Belt & Road countries (China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand & the Philippines), towards global domination of the popular sport. The fights will be run under the Rules & Regulations Governing Professional Boxing sanctioned & agreed upon by the GAB and the IBF ,” said Chairman Mitra.
“A type of home and away format will be adopted to sharpen boxers’ versatility to fight skillful opponents in diverse environments. The physical demands of training & fighting in extremely different climatic conditions and altitudes than home soil will toughen up our boxers.”
“Fans will love the regular friendlies & championships to be held in both countries. They will enjoy fights by international fighters right in their countries. We know how fans are though. A great number would surely travel to support their countrymen fighting abroad.”
According to Mitra, the signatories were “collectively targetting a future where Asia will collect the most belts in numerous divisions worldwide. If we continue the momentum expected to be generated by this tripartite agreement, boxing matches will once again empty the streets, even stop traffic and crime. All parties will work towards making China & the Philippines the home of boxing greats thru this agreement.”
This article is telling a false narrative and it’s garbage. Andrew Lu and IBF Asia cheats people and Filipino boxers are getting sold off and KO’d by IBF Asia-affiliated promoters and boxers.
