‘TIRED’ Video Continues SIRUP’s Mysterious Spaceship Story
Some songs get released. “TIRED” got smuggled out slowly, one live show at a time, until SIRUP finally gave fans permission to actually own it.
The Japanese artist confirmed the single’s release in Bangkok, the closing stop of his Asia tour, putting an end to a rollout unlike almost anything else happening in pop music right now: months of live performances, zero streaming presence, and a fanbase forced to learn the song purely by ear.
Built on Restraint, Then Breaking Wide Open
At its core, “TIRED” is a breakup song of sorts — not about anger, but about the quieter act of walking away from something that once mattered and choosing to carry the memory forward without letting it anchor you in place. Longtime collaborator Taka Perry produces the track with a light touch: warm guitar, a rhythm section that never crowds the vocal, space left open on purpose. That restraint holds until the final stretch, when SIRUP’s voice finally cracks the song open and the whole thing turns raw.
Keeping the song off streaming for months wasn’t a delay — it was a strategy. It transformed “TIRED” from a single fans could passively stream into something they had to actively chase, memorize and wait for.
A Spaceship Video That Refuses to Stand Alone
The video doesn’t function as a typical single release either. Director maxilla, who also helmed May’s “Not AI,” picks the story up mid-flight — literally. Shot as one continuous take, it shows SIRUP playing guitar aboard the same spaceship from “Not AI,” drifting toward an unfamiliar planet before finally breaking through its atmosphere. Rather than closing a chapter, it reads like the next scene of an ongoing film.
That connective tissue matters because of what SIRUP has just come off of. His SIRUP ASIA TOUR 2026 “TURN THE PAGE IN ASIA” wrapped with stops in Seoul, Taipei and Bangkok, following a run few artists ever pull off in one year: all 16 dates of his live-house tour sold out, both Tokyo and Osaka hall shows sold out, and “Not AI” landing squarely in the middle of it.
Against a year defined entirely by momentum, “TIRED” arrives as the pause — a song about release, dropped at the one moment SIRUP’s career refuses to slow down.
