Crystalfall early access launches March 20 after Steam Next Fest success
Fans of action role-playing games will soon be able to dive deeper into the world of Crystalfall as developer CRG Studio confirmed that the free-to-play steampunk ARPG will launch into Early Access on March 20, 2026.
The announcement comes after the game attracted strong interest during Steam Next Fest, where its demo ranked among the top 50 most-played titles. The upcoming game has also surpassed 100,000 wishlists, signaling growing anticipation among players ahead of its Early Access release on Steam and Epic Store.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by a mysterious asteroid impact, Crystalfall drops players into a wasteland where volatile crystal energy reshapes both the environment and its survivors. Players take on the role of mutated explorers venturing into dangerous dungeons in search of powerful crystal shards and valuable loot.
The game draws inspiration from genre-defining ARPG titles such as Path of Exile and Diablo 2 while introducing modern gameplay systems centered around deep customization and long-term progression.
Deep customization and theorycrafting take center stage
Crystalfall is designed to reward experimentation, offering a wide range of build possibilities for players who enjoy crafting complex character setups.
At the center of the system is a large talent tree that allows players to shape the overall direction of their characters. Skills are also lootable and feature their own procedural skill trees, allowing players to further refine abilities through upgrades and modifiers.
Additional customization comes through Skill Crests, socketable enhancements that alter the behavior and power of abilities. Weapons and armor also include alpha and omega affixes, which significantly reshape the properties of equipment and open new strategic possibilities for character builds.
These layered systems are meant to give players countless combinations of gear, skills, and passive bonuses to experiment with throughout their journey.
Early Access introduces campaign and endgame systems
The Early Access version launching on March 20 will expand on the core systems introduced during the demo period.
Players will be able to shape their combat style through a flexible character framework that supports various combinations of weapons, skills, and equipment. Possible setups include pistol-and-shield builds, dual steampunk staffs, or unconventional gear combinations designed to unlock powerful synergies.
At launch, the Early Access build will include three playable classes and five campaign acts that introduce players to the devastated world of Crystalfall.
Early versions of endgame activities and player trading systems will also be available, allowing players to begin exploring long-term progression and item economies.
Localization support in 11 languages will also be included as the developers aim to expand the game’s global player base.
Ahead of the Early Access launch, players can also pre-register and add the game to their Steam wishlist to unlock milestone rewards once participation goals are reached. Those who register may receive exclusive Lava cosmetics and additional support items when the full game launches.
