BCRemit, the Filipino-led digital remittance platform, has expanded its services to 23 countries and is broadening its offerings beyond overseas Filipino workers to include SMEs, freelancers, and BPOs. The company aims to become a global financial partner while maintaining its roots in Filipino innovation.

The 2026 expansion includes a new QR-payment collection feature in partnership with Coins.ph. This addition enhances BCRemit’s outbound remittances from the Philippines and strengthens its integration with major e-wallet platforms. The move comes as global remittance volumes continue to surge, with $2.91 billion processed in November 2025 alone.

Innovation drives cross-border growth

Founded in 2015 by Oliver and Gio Calma, BCRemit was inspired by the family’s own experience with delayed overseas remittances. The platform now boasts over 1 million transactions, totaling more than $600 million, highlighting its ability to handle high-volume cross-border settlements efficiently.

The company leverages blockchain technology and USDC stablecoins through a partnership with Circle Internet Financial. This innovation reduces transaction costs to about 1%, far below the global average of 6.4%, and enables near-instant settlements, bypassing traditional banking delays.

“Our mission has always been to show that Filipino-led innovation can offer transformative solutions globally,” said Oliver Calma, Founder and CEO. “By expanding our services, we aim to serve the world’s most dynamic economies while staying rooted in Filipino values.”

Preparing for a financial platform evolution

Beyond remittances, BCRemit envisions an all-in-one financial ecosystem that includes loans, e-wallets, stablecoins, and investment options. The company’s commitment to compliance remains strong, operating under the oversight of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, UK FCA, HMRC, Banco de España, and the Bank of Canada.

Gio Calma, Co-Founder and Director, emphasized the human impact of fast, secure remittances. “We understand that for our customers, remittances aren’t just transactions — they’re a lifeline. Our expansion remains focused on creating a trusted financial gateway that serves every Filipino globally.”
