BRIDGES: A Philippine-German Month Concert takes center stage as the opening salvo of Paco Park Presents 2026 on Friday, February 20, at 6:00 p.m. The free public concert transforms Paco Park into a meeting ground of cultures through music.

Led by Sonore Music Philippines, the evening highlights both masters of the German canon and beloved Filipino compositions. It marks the first presentation of the year for the long-running cultural series held at one of Manila’s most historic landmarks.

The program moves through works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Robert Schumann, Felix Mendelssohn, Franz Schubert, and Ludwig van Beethoven. These pillars of German music share the spotlight with Filipino classics such as “Damdamin,” “Nahan,” “Sa Kabukiran,” and “Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka.”

The result is more than a recital. BRIDGES: A Philippine-German Month Concert becomes a living dialogue between traditions shaped by history, discipline, and emotion.

Building bridges through music and mentorship

Sonore Music Philippines stands among the country’s leading institutions for classical and Filipino music education. With more than 750 students across Makati, Taft in Manila, Sto. Tomas in Batangas, and Nuvali in Laguna, it continues to expand a community grounded in excellence and artistic growth.

Many of its faculty members are alumni of the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music. They serve not only as teachers but as active performers, guiding students through rigorous training and real-world stage exposure.

Through BRIDGES: A Philippine-German Month Concert, students perform side by side with their mentors in a professional concert setting. The experience reinforces discipline, confidence, and artistry in a way that classrooms alone cannot provide.

A cultural landmark sets the tone for 2026

As the first Paco Park Presents show of the year, BRIDGES: A Philippine-German Month Concert sets an ambitious tone for 2026. The series continues its mission of celebrating heritage, artistry, and cultural appreciation in the heart of Manila.
