Muntinlupa honored with seven UGEA awards for excellence in governance
Muntinlupa City continues to lead by example in local governance after securing seven distinctions at the Urban Governance Exemplar Awards (UGEA) 2025, affirming its commitment to public service excellence and community welfare.
The awards highlighted the city’s standout performance across youth protection, legislation, public safety, anti-drug efforts, and environmental programs, setting a benchmark for other LGUs in Metro Manila and beyond.
Recognitions across child protection, legislation, and safety
Among the key awards, Muntinlupa received Top Performer recognition for its Local Council for the Protection of Children and earned the Local Legislative Award for its Sangguniang Panlungsod.
The city also received citations for its Peace and Order Council and Anti-Drug Abuse Council, acknowledging their role in fostering a secure and drug-free community.
Strong performance in Manila Bay rehabilitation efforts
Muntinlupa also excelled in the Manila Bay clean-up and rehabilitation program with multiple awards, including Highly Compliant and Top Performer citations across clusters — underscoring consistent effort in sustainability and environmental care.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon credited the success to the dedication of city officials and employees, emphasizing that every achievement reflects Muntinlupa’s mission to deliver honest and compassionate service to its residents.
