Voltai launches AP01 e-bike and battery swap system for Philippine fleets
Startup Voltai officially launched its AP01 — a 2-watt, two-wheeled electric vehicle — during an exclusive event at a Cleanfuel station in Pasig City, giving fleet operators a first-hand look at its innovative battery swapping ecosystem.
Attendees from logistics, ride-hailing, and food delivery sectors experienced the convenience of Voltai’s system, where depleted batteries can be swapped for fully charged ones in minutes. Through Voltai’s mobile app integrated with Google Maps, participants could track the AP01’s battery health, location, and overall performance.

Voltai has partnered with Cleanfuel and co-living brand MyTown to deploy 15 pilot battery swapping stations, with plans to expand further across Metro Manila and nearby provinces. After-sales support for fleet clients is also in the works.
Voltai’s cost-efficient model for fleets
“The Voltai pilot preview marks the first step toward building the future of fleet e-mobility in the Philippines — smarter, cleaner, and more cost-efficient,” said Fazlur Abdul Rahman, Head of Ideation at 1882 Energy Ventures and Voltai Co-founder and CEO. The system helps fleet businesses overcome downtime, frequent maintenance, and fuel expenses while providing remote utilization tracking.
Voltai leases its EVs and batteries for a fixed fee, protecting businesses from rising vehicle costs and fuel prices. The model enables companies to scale cleaner fleets efficiently while reducing overall maintenance and emissions.

“We are very excited to share Voltai with the Philippine market and give businesses a competitive edge through lower costs, higher efficiency, and reduced emissions without heavy upfront investment,” Rahman added.
Voltai operates under 1882 Energy Ventures, a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corporation, committed to promoting decarbonization and decentralized energy solutions in the Philippines and beyond.
