Batang Pinoy, the Philippine Sports Commission’s (PSC) premier grassroots sports program, is set to return stronger than ever this year with Batang Pinoy 2025 — a nationwide celebration of youth athletics and values formation, now enhanced by digital inclusion through the PSC’s continued partnership with Maya.

From October 25 to 30, General Santos City will welcome over 15,000 young athletes from across the country to compete in 27 sports disciplines, including aquatics, athletics, martial arts, and team events. Since its inception in 1998, Batang Pinoy has been a platform not just for discovering athletic talent but also for fostering discipline, camaraderie, and sportsmanship among Filipino youth — particularly those from underprivileged and out-of-school sectors.

Batang Pinoy 2025 champions inclusivity and modernization

In line with PSC’s push for modernization, this year’s edition introduces a digital support system through its partnership with Maya, the country’s leading fintech and digital bank. The collaboration allows athletes to easily access their allowances and manage their own digital accounts — making the experience more convenient, secure, and aligned with PSC’s goal of promoting financial literacy among young competitors.

“We’re grateful for Maya’s continued support for Batang Pinoy. By enabling the electronic distribution of allowances, Maya helps us provide our athletes and delegates with a faster, safer and more convenient experience—so they can focus on what matters most: competing and growing,” said PSC Chairman John Patrick Gregorio.

The digital shift reflects the PSC’s commitment to athlete welfare, ensuring that sports development goes hand in hand with real-world education and financial empowerment. Through this approach, Batang Pinoy not only nurtures athletic skill but also helps build responsible and financially literate young citizens.

Strengthening the future of grassroots sports

Batang Pinoy 2025 continues to serve as a training ground for the next generation of national athletes while promoting inclusivity across communities. The event underscores the importance of accessible sports opportunities and long-term athlete development as vital parts of the country’s sporting ecosystem.

By integrating digital access into its operations, PSC aims to make grassroots sports management more efficient and transparent — laying the groundwork for a future where athletes can benefit from modernized systems and stronger institutional support.

As the event unfolds in General Santos City, Batang Pinoy 2025 reaffirms its mission of shaping champions both in and out of competition — combining athletic excellence with values formation, inclusivity, and now, digital empowerment.
