Just two weeks after setting YouTube ablaze with the official music video for “GALA,” global girl group XG has released the highly anticipated dance practice video. Fans had been requesting it nonstop, and the group delivered with a stripped-back yet intense performance that spotlights their raw skill and precision.

“GALA,” which dropped on September 19 as the lead single from XG’s upcoming first full album, has made a fast impact on the charts. The single reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Global Japan Songs (excluding Japan), topped rankings in Brazil and the United States, and entered the Top 5 in several Southeast Asian markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. It also gave XG their first entry on Billboard’s U.S. Dance Digital Song Sales chart at No. 10, signaling a major breakthrough on the global stage.

Precision and individuality in the spotlight

The dance practice video strips away the visuals of the music video to focus on the choreography’s complexity. The routine blends mannequin-like freezes, vogue-inspired sequences, and standout moments such as COCONA’s breakdancing and HARVEY’s acrobatics. Each member’s style is highlighted while maintaining the group’s trademark synchronization.

The energy is unfiltered and the chemistry sharp, making the rehearsal-room performance as compelling as the original video. The release follows XG’s recent festival appearances in Beijing and comes ahead of scheduled performances across Luzhou, Saitama, Makuhari, Shanghai, and Hong Kong this October.

Lead single sets the tone for debut album

The dance practice video arrives as “GALA” continues to dominate playlists and social media trends. It also builds anticipation for XG’s first full album, set for release on January 23, 2026.

The album aims to distill the group’s core identity, moving freely across genres while introducing their self-defined “X-POP” sound. It is positioned as both a reflection of who XG are today and a launchpad for their global ambitions.
