The San Francisco 49ers rank second in the NFL for jersey demand, according to a new study from RushOrderTees.

Search data showed “49ers jersey” was entered into Google an average of 136,958 times per month between August 2024 and July 2025. That figure is 171.5% higher than the league average of 50,450.

The only team to generate more interest was the Dallas Cowboys, with “Dallas Cowboys jersey” searched an average of 162,142 times monthly. The Detroit Lions ranked third, with 118,550 monthly searches.

Cowboys lead in jersey demand

The Cowboys’ average monthly searches came in more than double the league-wide mark. That reflects their longstanding national following and status as one of the NFL’s most marketable brands.

The 49ers, with their five Super Bowl titles and recent playoff runs, trailed closely behind. Detroit’s climb into third reflects the Lions’ resurgence in competitiveness and popularity.

Other teams rounding out the top five were the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers, two franchises with strong national fan bases.

Colts rank last in jersey searches

At the other end, the Indianapolis Colts were found to have the least in-demand jersey. “Colts jersey” averaged only 5,108 searches per month, 89.9% below the league average.

The Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans followed, with both franchises generating fewer than 7,500 searches monthly.

RushOrderTees CEO Mike Nemeroff said sports merchandise plays an essential role in team branding. He cited examples such as Taylor Swift’s influence on Kansas City Chiefs popularity after her public support for Travis Kelce.
