Four students awarded in Angola Oil & Gas scholarship program

Four students received full scholarships to attend the Instituto Nacional de Petróleos (INP) in Sumbe as part of the Albina Faria de Assis Pereira Africano INP Scholarship for Girls initiative. The awards were presented during the Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) 2025 Conference and Exhibition.

Supporting female students in petroleum education

The scholarship program, championed by Angola’s Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas and the African Energy Chamber, covers the full four-year duration of study and aims to support female students in petroleum-related fields. The selected students were chosen based on their top results in the 2025/2026 entrance exams.

The awardees include:

  • Emanuela Gizela Calombe Sazanga – 20/20 in the electromechanics course

  • Paula Vasco Madureira Muxinga – 19.5/20 in the electromechanics course

  • Lúcia Nanjele Joaquim Huque – 17.75/20 in refining and gas

  • Sabino Loureiro Panzo – 17.25/20 in the chemistry laboratory course

Fostering inclusion in the petroleum industry

The scholarships reflect the Angolan government’s commitment to promoting greater inclusion of youth and women in the petroleum sector. The awards were presented in the presence of José Barroso, Secretary of State for Oil and Gas in Angola, during the AOG 2025 conference on September 4.
