NBA 2K26 unveils major The City updates with new Crews, Parks, and leaderboards

NBA 2K26 is raising the stakes with its latest Courtside Report, as Visual Concepts and NBA star Tyrese Haliburton highlight the biggest updates coming to The City. Designed to enhance competition, community, and accessibility, the new features promise to transform the player experience across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at Visual Concepts, described The City as the epicenter of NBA 2K culture, emphasizing how the redesigned layout, competitive leaderboards, and the all-new Crews feature aim to put “Ball Over Everything.”
Fresh layout and exciting gameplay modes
The new City layout is designed for accessibility, allowing players to navigate faster than ever. For the first time, The City will run at 60 frames per second on next-gen consoles, delivering smoother gameplay and camera panning.
Seasonal Parks also make a return with new aesthetics and challenges. Each season introduces a new Park, including HD remasters of the iconic NBA 2K16 MyPARKs. Season 1 debuts Skyline Park, an urban-inspired setting where players can chase MVP honors, extend winning streaks, or break opponents’ momentum for bonus VC rewards.
Street Kings brings a competitive edge with CPU boss battles in a Roman-style arena, while the Pro-AM Summit gives players twice-a-season tournament action in both 3v3 and 5v5 formats.

Crews, leaderboards, and more rewards
One of the most anticipated additions is Crews, allowing players to form squads of up to 50 members with custom logos and branding. By climbing through 30 Crew levels, members can unlock exclusive rewards, multipliers, and recognition within the community.
Leaderboards are also getting a major upgrade. Players can now see top performers across multiple categories, including mode-specific wins. To celebrate achievement, a 12-foot statue of the number one ranked MyPLAYER will stand proudly outside each mode’s building. Geo Rank leaderboards add a regional twist, while Crew leaderboards show which team is dominating The City.
Additional features include a revamped MyCOURT for training, new challenges ranging from Beginner to Lifetime milestones, and the ability to swap MyPLAYER builds without leaving The City.
NBA 2K26, developed by Visual Concepts, is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB. More details and the full breakdown of features can be found in the official Courtside Report blog and NBA 2K26 website.
