Changing of the Guard set at Rizal Park with Boy Scouts drill exhibition

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) will host the Changing of the Guard Rizal Park ceremony at Luneta, starting at 4:00 PM. Taking place in front of the Rizal Monument, the event reflects discipline, respect, and national pride as ceremonial guards formally rotate their posts in line with tradition.
The ceremony has long stood as a symbol of honor for Filipinos and a way to showcase the values of service and patriotism that Rizal Park represents. Visitors can witness the meticulous execution of the event, where the guards embody the importance of heritage and discipline.
Boy Scouts highlight tradition with silent drill
Adding a highlight to the program, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Caloocan City Council will deliver a Silent Drill Exhibition at Lawn A. This performance, carried out without verbal commands, displays precision, synchronization, and respect for unity.
Through their coordinated rifle drill, the Boy Scouts demonstrate the values of teamwork and service instilled in young leaders. Their exhibition underscores the importance of focus and commitment in building character and shaping responsible citizens.
Rizal Park’s role in national pride
The NPDC continues to use Rizal Park as a venue for events that strengthen historical appreciation and national identity. The Changing of the Guard Ceremony, paired with youth-driven performances, highlights how traditions remain relevant to modern audiences.
By combining historical observance with the active participation of today’s youth, the August 31 program is expected to inspire both pride and reflection among attendees.
