The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) has surpassed 2,200 beneficiaries under its Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP) after approving two new housing projects in Isabela and Rizal.

This development reinforces President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, spearheaded by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) under Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling. SHFC President and CEO Federico Laxa, alongside the Credit Committee, confirmed the approval of applications from Amianan CMP Homeowners’ Association, Inc. in Barangay Sagat, Cordon, Isabela, and Seattohills Neighborhood Association, Inc. in Barangay Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal. These projects are set to benefit more than 250 families, covering both formal and informal earners.

Commitment to expanding ECMP housing projects

Laxa emphasized SHFC’s mission of securing tenure for Filipinos, especially low-income earners, under the Expanded 4PH Program. He noted that the agency is accelerating efforts to ensure more families gain access to affordable housing. In the past three weeks alone, SHFC has approved 12 ECMP housing projects nationwide, with more projects expected in the coming months. Secretary Aliling has directed that the first batch of ECMP lots be awarded to beneficiaries by October this year.

Recent ECMP housing projects include Centennial Sunrise HOAI and Megaville 2 HOAI in Pasig City; Pinag-isang Magkapitbahay ng Miranda Compound HOA, Inc. Phases 1 and 2 in San Fernando City, Pampanga; Pagkamoot Village 1 and 2 HOAI and Ilaw Village HOAI in Tabaco City, Albay; Wawang Pulo HOAI Phase 1 in Valenzuela City; Goldenspringville HOAI in Daet, Camarines Norte; and Mirasol Village HOAI in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

Beyond housing: strengthening communities

As part of its transformative approach, SHFC is enhancing the ECMP by addressing not just housing but also community development. The agency is integrating improvements in water and electricity access, drainage systems, and livelihood training programs to uplift the income capacity of member families.

This initiative comes as SHFC celebrates the 37th anniversary of the Community Mortgage Program (CMP) under the theme “Kaagapay ng Komunidad: Mula Noon Hanggang Ngayon.”
