BitMEX launches copy trading and reverse copy trading for crypto derivatives

BitMEX, one of the oldest crypto derivatives exchanges, has announced the launch of its new Copy Trading feature, designed to help users replicate the strategies of top-performing traders. This tool simplifies access to advanced trading methods, making it easier for beginners and busy investors to engage with the fast-moving crypto market.

In a unique move, the platform has also introduced Reverse Copy Trading, which allows users to take the opposite position of a selected Copy Leader. This option gives traders the flexibility to either align with market trends or hedge against them, depending on their outlook.

How BitMEX Copy Trading works

With this new feature, users can act as Copiers, selecting experienced Copy Leaders from the Copy Trading Marketplace. Once chosen, trades are automatically mirrored, with the option to allocate a preferred amount of capital.

Reverse Copy Trading adds a strategic layer by letting users take the opposite position of a Copy Leader, which can be useful for contrarian strategies or hedging purposes. At the same time, traders maintain full control with customizable risk settings, including Stop Loss and Take Profit limits.

Copy Leaders themselves also stand to benefit, earning up to a 50 percent profit share from their Copiers. This allows skilled traders to build their reputation and generate additional income.

Since 2014, BitMEX has been home to some of the most experienced traders in the crypto space. With the introduction of Copy Trading and Reverse Copy Trading, the platform is making professional-level strategies more accessible.

Users can copy up to five Copy Leaders at once to diversify their trading portfolio. The automation feature removes the need for constant market monitoring, while full customization ensures traders retain control over their funds.

According to BitMEX CEO Stephan Lutz, the new feature “democratises access” to professional trading by giving users the tools to mirror proven strategies or take a contrarian approach.
