Riot Games has confirmed that the 2XKO Closed Beta will launch on September 9, 2025 for Windows PC, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S availability coming later. The highly anticipated 2v2 tag-based fighting game, set in the League of Legends universe of Runeterra, will offer cross-platform progression and inventory—ensuring players can freely switch from PC to console without losing their progress.

This long-term beta phase marks the next stage in Riot’s ambitious rollout plan. Once the servers go live in September, Riot intends to keep them up continuously through the game’s full launch.

Players who joined the earlier Alpha Lab 1 and 2 play tests will automatically gain access to the 2XKO Closed Beta on PC. For new players interested in joining the fight, Riot has opened sign-ups globally at 2xko.riotgames.com/beta.

Vi enters the arena at Evo 2025

Riot Games also revealed that Vi, the hard-hitting champion from League of Legends and Netflix’s Arcane, will become a playable character in 2XKO. Fans attending Evo 2025 in Las Vegas from August 1 to 3 will be the first to try her in action at the 2XKO booth. She’ll also be available in the Closed Beta when it begins in September.

2XKO is Riot’s free-to-play fighting game built for both hardcore fans and newcomers. With tag-team mechanics, a modern visual style, and core FGC innovations, the game continues to draw attention as it bridges the gap between League of Legends lore and competitive fighting gameplay.

More updates and behind-the-scenes content will be shared through @Play2XKO on X, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
