Paledusk, one of Japan’s most electrifying metal acts, is officially joining the anime world. The band will make their major label debut with “HUGs,” the opening theme for the dystopian anime series Gachiakuta, which is set to premiere on July 6, 2025.

The band’s new track is already generating major buzz online, with fans praising its raw energy and explosive sound. Comments flooding the anime trailer’s YouTube page describe the opening as “LIT” and even “life-completing,” signaling strong anticipation for both the show and the song.

A powerful debut tied to Gachiakuta’s emotional themes

“HUGs” was written specifically for Gachiakuta after a personal request from manga creators Kei Urana and Hideyoshi Andou. The song reflects the core themes of the series—resilience, rebellion, and survival in a broken world.

According to vocalist KAITO, “‘HUGs’ is a track filled with heart and blood. It’s not just a song – it’s a beginning.” Guitarist DAIDAI added that the song was made for “those who dare to stand out,” while drummer BOB described it as “chaos, heaviness, and humanity rolled into one.”

The anime itself tells the story of Rudo, an orphan from the slums labeled a criminal by birth, as he fights against a society that cast him aside. The tone of Paledusk’s music aligns closely with this gritty narrative, and the collaboration marks a significant moment for both the band and the anime.

The regular edition is priced at ¥1,200, while the deluxe version with trading cards is priced at ¥9,000.
