‘ONE OR EIGHT’ partners with Atlantic for worldwide J-pop push

J-pop’s global journey just got its biggest boost. Rising star boy group ONE OR EIGHT has officially signed with Atlantic Music Group, setting a historic precedent as one of the first Japanese acts to land a deal with a top U.S. label.
Their debut single under Atlantic, titled “365”, is set to release on June 18 (midnight JST). The emotionally charged track was co-written by Nasri, known for hits with Justin Bieber and MAGIC!, and is poised to capture hearts with its everyday love anthem sound.
From Radio Charts to Global Tours
ONE OR EIGHT is no stranger to international buzz. Their previous hit “DSTM” broke barriers by sampling Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop The Music” — making them the first Japanese act to do so legally. The track charted in 14 countries and made ONE OR EIGHT the first Japanese boy group to crack the U.S. Top 40 Mediabase chart, peaking at #36.
Their global fanbase expanded with their “SHŪKAI” tour in April 2025, which visited five cities across North and Latin America. Due to overwhelming demand, they’ve announced more fan meetings in Thailand and Japan, showing their growing impact beyond borders.
Betting on Themselves, Leading a J-Pop Revolution
ONE OR EIGHT’s journey reflects a larger J-pop movement crossing cultural lines. With members MIZUKI, NEO, REIA, RYOTA, SOUMA, TAKERU, TSUBASA, and YUGA, the group lives by their motto “BET ON YOURSELF”, inspired by the phrase “ichi ka bachi ka” (all or nothing).
Since debuting in August 2024 with “Don’t Tell Nobody”, they’ve worked with industry titans like Ryan Tedder and Big Sean. Their release “KAWASAKI (with Big Sean)” even hit #5 on the U.S. iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart. Recognized as one of Nikkei Entertainment!’s “100 New Faces to Watch” and awarded at MTV VMAJ 2025, ONE OR EIGHT is redefining what J-pop can be.
As “365” approaches, so does a turning point for Japanese pop on the world stage.
