Arla Foods Ingredients expands Southeast Asia reach through new Brenntag distribution deal
Arla Foods Ingredients has extended its partnership with global ingredients distributor Brenntag Group to cover Southeast Asia’s three largest food and nutrition markets: Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. The expansion aims to address the rising demand for high-quality protein in the region, driven by growing health consciousness and economic growth.
The agreement will allow Brenntag to distribute Arla’s full protein ingredient portfolio, which includes products for health food, sports nutrition, infant formulas, and applications in bakery and dairy. It builds on the successful partnership both companies launched in China in 2023 through Brenntag’s local arm Zhongbai Xingye.

Tapping Into Southeast Asia’s Growing Demand
Market research shows that Southeast Asia has seen rapid growth in demand for food and beverage products rich in functional protein. Arla Foods Ingredients believes the region’s current supply does not match its potential, and the deal enables them to support more manufacturers with solutions tailored to regional needs.
Alexander Leufgen, Head of Asia-Pacific at Arla Foods Ingredients, emphasized the importance of deepening their market reach. He stated that working with Brenntag would help refine offerings for sectors such as active nutrition and improve functionality in regional food products.
Building on a Proven Partnership
Kenneth Keh, Regional President for Nutrition Asia Pacific at Brenntag Specialties, highlighted the success of the China collaboration and expressed confidence in the new Southeast Asia expansion. He noted that their joint strength would meet the increasing demand for innovative and quality nutritional ingredients in Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia.
Both companies aim to accelerate access to cutting-edge nutrition ingredients and reinforce their influence in one of the world’s fastest-growing consumer regions.
