XPENG, a leader in high-tech smart mobility, has officially unveiled its revolutionary AI Tech Tree upgrade alongside the global flagship launch of the 2025 XPENG X9, signaling a bold leap toward redefining the future of transportation across roads, skies, and intelligent environments.

AI as the Core of Future Mobility

At the heart of XPENG’s vision for the next decade is the integration of artificial intelligence as the “core engine” driving innovation in mobility. This strategic pivot emphasizes electrification and embodied AI, backed by an in-house full-stack R&D ecosystem that includes:

  • Cloud-based and vehicle-based large models

  • AI chips built specifically for large-scale models

  • Robust infrastructure for seamless deployment

XPENG is the first Chinese automaker to mass-produce vehicles using end-to-end large AI models, with its autonomous driving system already undergoing trials in Hong Kong.

The company also introduced the Turing AI Chip, a self-developed 40-core processor capable of locally powering 30-billion-parameter models. Delivering three times the computing power of existing chips, it will be deployed in XPENG’s electric vehicles, flying cars, and humanoid robots. Mass production is expected in China by Q2 2025.

Flying Cars and Humanoid Robots: The Future Takes Flight

XPENG also highlighted its disruptive ambitions in air mobility and robotics. The XPENG AEROHT Land Aircraft Carrier, the world’s first modular flying car, is slated for mass production in 2026 with over 4,000 pre-orders already secured. Its design addresses take-off and landing challenges, advancing the accessibility of personal aerial transport.

In parallel, XPENG unveiled IRON, a humanoid robot powered by the Turing AI chip. Designed for complex industrial and retail tasks, IRON boasts:

  • 60 joints and 200 degrees of freedom

  • 3,000 TOPS processing power

  • A 720° AI vision system shared with XPENG’s vehicle tech

2025 XPENG X9: Intelligent, Powerful, Efficient

With 496 technical upgrades and 35% new components, the 2025 XPENG X9 redefines what a smart MPV can offer. Every X9 unit includes the Turing AI Smart Driving system, enabling true end-to-end autonomous driving with parking lot-to-parking lot navigation ready at delivery.

Built on an 800V high-voltage architecture, the X9 features ultra-fast charging — gaining 405 km in just 10 minutes or reaching 80% battery in only 12 minutes via its 5C Superfast Charging AI battery. It achieves a record-low 16.2 kWh per 100 km, the most efficient in its class.

The X9’s advanced cabin features include:

  • Zero-gravity seats

  • Real-time AI-adaptive suspension

  • One-click folding third-row seating

  • 21.4-inch rear screen, fast wireless charging, and ambient lighting

Safety-wise, the X9 is the only MPV to receive top scores across all three active safety crash tests. It includes 14 advanced safety features and a battery system with enhanced bulletproof protection, capable of withstanding impacts from ten consecutive bullets.

The X9 will launch in select European markets in the second half of 2025, with broader regional expansion to follow.

Global Expansion and Infrastructure Leadership

By the end of 2024, XPENG was operating in over 30 countries and had become the top seller of premium EVs priced over €40,000 in Europe. In Q1 2025, XPENG also led the Chinese domestic market among emerging EV brands.

Supporting this global rise is a vast charging infrastructure, including:

  • 2,110 XPENG-operated ultra-fast charging stations

  • Strategic partnerships with Volkswagen and bp pulse

  • Coverage in 27 European countries and Southeast Asia

  • Over 2.07 million charging piles across 31 global markets

To address global range and infrastructure challenges, XPENG will launch its Kunpeng Super Electric System by Q4 2025, boosting pure electric range to 430 km and combined range to 1,400 km.

XPENG's global expansion includes over 2 million charging piles across 31 markets.
