Atarayo brings fresh energy to Assassination Classroom with ‘Moon Ship’ ending
Atarayo, the emotionally resonant Japanese band known for their sorrow-tinged melodies, has officially released their latest single, “moon ship,” on April 9, 2025. The track also serves as the new ending theme song for the rebroadcast version of the beloved anime series Assassination Classroom.
Breaking away from their signature medium-tempo ballads, moon ship launches with a dynamic bassline and adds layers of drums and guitar to reflect a bold new sound. The composition pulses with energy, echoing the kinetic tension of Assassination Classroom and marking a stylistic evolution for the band as they celebrate their fifth anniversary.
A New Chapter for Atarayo

Vocalist Hitomi, who penned the lyrics, described the song as a tribute to personal growth and emotional resilience.
“Even if you know something is out of reach, you can’t help but reach out anyway. Just the act of connecting with the object of your desire can hugely impact your personal growth,” she said. “I want to have the strength to look squarely at my past self, who walked everywhere with my head down, and accept me. This song is all about those feelings.”
Concert News: Atarayo Live in Seoul
Atarayo is also expanding their reach across Asia. Their first solo concert in Korea, Hyundai Card Curated 98 Atarayo Live In Seoul, will take place on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at UNDERSTAGE in Seoul. The show follows the band’s successful Atarayo 1st Asia Tour 2024, which saw them sell out all six scheduled shows, including additional dates.

Upcoming Music: More to Come in April
Following moon ship, Atarayo will release another new single, “I still love you,” on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The track will be featured in the Kansai TV/Fuji TV Thursday night drama Parallel fufu: Shinda ‘Boku to Tsuma’ no Shinjitsu.
With their poetic name meaning “sorrowful night”—a night so beautiful it’s a shame to see the dawn—Atarayo continues to enchant fans with their emotionally rich storytelling, both in music and performance. Having started on YouTube in late 2020, the band has steadily built a devoted international following, and 2025 is already shaping up to be their most impactful year yet.
