UP SAMASKOM celebrates 50 Years with Live A.I.D.S. 35: ‘A Laugh Story’

UP SAMASKOM, the premier campus-based performing arts organization, is set to bring another round of laughter, music, and thought-provoking satire as it stages Live A.I.D.S. 35: A Laugh Story from May 9 to 11, 2025, at the Ignacio B. Jimenez (IBG) – KAL Theater in UP Diliman.

This marks the 35th edition of the longest-running live comedy musical variety show in the Philippines. A staple in student and entertainment circles since the 1970s, Live A.I.D.S. blends humor with social and political commentary, making it a must-watch event every year.

Live A.I.D.S. 35: A Laugh Story stays true to its tradition of quick-witted humor and biting sarcasm. This year’s show weaves pop culture references, socio-political issues, and viral trends into its signature mix of comedy, music, and dynamic production numbers.

“Behind every laugh, there’s a story,” says John Kenneth De Leon, director of Live A.I.D.S. 35. “This show proves that humor can be a powerful tool for truth, reflection, and change.”
