AICI elects first Asian president as Manila hosts global image consulting conference
For the first time in its 35-year history, the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI), a US-based global organization of image management experts, has elected an Asian president.
Olen Juarez-Lim, founder and president of the OJL Consulting Group, was named the 22nd president, making her the first Filipina to hold the position.
She will lead the AICI 35th anniversary global conference at the Makati Shangri-La Manila from April 24 to 27, marking the first time the prestigious event is held in Asia. Themed Weaving the future: global collaborations for breakthrough innovations, the conference will welcome delegates from North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
Go Negosyo mentor Paolo Tibig will deliver the keynote speech on business management, while Australian online business expert Amber Renae will discuss digital influence. Special guest speaker Kara Finney from Dexterity Canada will tackle workplace relational skills, and Vogue Philippines editor-in-chief Bea Valdes will introduce a fashion show featuring Filipino weaves by designer Rajo Laurel.

The four-day event will offer 44 sessions covering various aspects of image consulting, including visual communication, styling, corporate branding, and business strategies.
“The Philippines is known for its warm hospitality, rich cultural heritage, and vibrant traditions. By hosting this conference in Manila, we aim to highlight the country’s contributions to the global industry while providing attendees with a culturally immersive experience,” Juarez-Lim said.
Rosario Diz, vice president of the global conference, emphasized that holding the event in Manila celebrates the diversity of AICI while fostering professional growth, cultural exchange, and industry innovation.
The last AICI global conference was held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, in 2023.
Delegates will have the chance to explore local culture and top tourist destinations during their stay, making the event not just a professional gathering but also a cultural experience.
