Snow Man’s ‘THE BEST 2020 – 2025’ becomes Japan’s fastest-selling album of the Reiwa Era

Japanese boyband Snow Man has once again shattered records with their first-ever greatest hits album, ‘THE BEST 2020 – 2025’, released on January 22, 2025, to celebrate their fifth anniversary. The nine-member group, featuring leader Hikaru Iwamoto, Tatsuya Fukazawa, Raul, Shota Watanabe, Koji Mukai, Ryohei Abe, Ren Meguro, Ryota Miyadate, and Daisuke Sakuma, continues to dominate the Japanese music industry.

The album made an explosive debut, selling over 1.1 million copies on its first day, topping the Oricon Daily Album Ranking for January 21, 2025. Within its first week, it reached a staggering 1,395,000 copies, setting a new record for the highest first-week sales of Japan’s Reiwa Era (2019–present), according to the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking (February 3, 2025).

Breaking Oricon Chart Records

With this latest achievement, Snow Man has become the first artist in Oricon history to have their first five consecutive albums surpass one million copies sold each. Additionally, ‘THE BEST 2020 – 2025’ set a new industry benchmark by selling over one million copies on its release day—a feat never before accomplished in Japan’s music charts.

The 61-track album is packed with both hit songs and brand-new tracks, along with 30 music videos, including two newly released ones. The collection also features exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, 35 dance practice and performance videos from YouTube, and nine solo music videos showcasing the talents of each Snow Man member.
