VCI Global powers AI Cloud revolution with $25M investment in NVIDIA H200 GPUs via Supermicro
VCI Global Limited (NASDAQ: VCIG) has taken a bold step into the AI cloud business with a groundbreaking investment of over $25 million in cutting-edge NVIDIA H200 GPUs, acquired through Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI). This strategic move, executed via its AI subsidiary, AI Computing Center Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (AICC), positions VCI Global as a pioneer in Malaysia’s AI ecosystem.
The acquisition includes 64 state-of-the-art Supermicro servers equipped with 512 NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPUs, designed to handle large-scale AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. The advanced capabilities of the NVIDIA H200 GPUs, part of NVIDIA’s Hopper family, make them ideal for generative AI, natural language processing, and machine learning models, providing unmatched processing power and efficiency.
AICC’s Cyberjaya-based AI computing center is scheduled to go live in Q2 2025. This facility will serve as the cornerstone of the company’s AI cloud business, which is projected to generate $6 million in annual revenue and contribute to a 20% increase in earnings by 2026.
“Through this strategic investment, AICC is proud to be the first in Malaysia to provide AI cloud services powered by NVIDIA H200 GPUs,” said Dato’ Victor Hoo, Group Executive Chairman and CEO of VCI Global. “This acquisition not only opens a new revenue stream for AICC but also strengthens Malaysia’s AI ecosystem and contributes to its economic development.”
The NVIDIA H200 GPUs, equipped with advanced tensor cores and enhanced memory bandwidth, enable efficient processing of vast datasets and complex computations. This makes them an invaluable asset for companies looking to leverage generative AI, machine learning, and natural language processing.
VCI Global’s investment underscores its commitment to advancing AI technology and cloud computing in Malaysia. The company is poised to redefine AI infrastructure in the region, setting the stage for transformative growth in the AI cloud industry.
