AiNA THE END Shines in New Album ‘RUBY POP’: A Triumphant Return
Japanese pop icon AiNA THE END released her much-anticipated third studio album, RUBY POP, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Known for her husky voice and emotionally evocative performances, AiNA THE END returns with her first album in three years, presenting a collection of songs that reflect her personal and artistic growth.
Each track on RUBY POP exudes its own brilliance, making the album a vibrant tapestry of AiNA’s journey over the past few years. The lead single, “Poppin’ Run,” features a catchy melody paired with her signature expressive vocals. The heartfelt lyrics, inspired by AiNA’s own experiences, delve into the complexities of human relationships, with lines like, “We live life by interacting with others, getting hurt and hurting them.”
AiNA THE END launched her music career in 2015 with the instrument-free punk band BiSH, which achieved major-label success in 2016. After the group disbanded in 2023, AiNA channeled her energy into her solo career, which began with her debut album THE END in 2021. Her versatility has since extended beyond music, with notable acting roles and high-profile collaborations.
In 2024, AiNA composed the theme song “Takaramono” for the TBS drama Sayonara, Maestro! and contributed “Frail” for the film The Strange House. She also soundtracked her first animated feature film, Mononoke the Movie: Phantom in the Rain, with the theme song “Love Sick.”
AiNA has also earned accolades as an actress, portraying Janis Joplin in a 2022 Japanese adaptation of the Broadway musical A Night with Janis Joplin and starring in the award-winning 2023 film Kyrie, directed by Shunji Iwai.
To support RUBY POP, AiNA THE END will perform overseas for the first time in Taiwan this December. Her upcoming HARINEZUMI SMILE Tour will bring her electrifying performances to eight cities across Japan starting January 2025.
