Sean Climaco proudly represents the Philippines at ONE 168: Denver

Sean “The One” Climaco may have grown up in the United States, but his heart remains firmly rooted in the Philippines. As a Filipino-American Muay Thai fighter, Climaco is determined to represent his native country with pride in his upcoming match at ONE 168: Denver on September 7 (Philippine time).

Competing in a flyweight Muay Thai bout against Johan Estupinan, Climaco will step into the 21,000-seater Ball Arena, filled with Filipino pride and the hope of making a name for himself in a division that includes heavyweights like Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9.

“For me, it’s a huge honor to represent both the Philippines and the Bay Area in California,” said Climaco. “Filipinos are known for their fighting spirit, especially Cebuanos like my family.”

Climaco’s journey to this moment began with a breakthrough victory in the “Road to ONE: America” tournament last year, where he showcased his talent by knocking out all three of his opponents. This earned him a guaranteed contract with ONE Championship, the world’s largest martial arts organization.

In his ONE Championship debut this past May, Climaco made an unforgettable impression, delivering a first-round knockout against Josue Cruz. Now, as he prepares to face Estupinan in Denver, Climaco is determined to keep the momentum going.

“This training camp has been exceptional. I’m more motivated than ever for my second fight in ONE,” Climaco stated. “I’m ready to face Estupinan, but he hasn’t encountered a fighter like me yet.”

Beyond his immediate goals, Climaco dreams of returning to the Philippines to fight in front of a home crowd—a place he hasn’t visited in over 16 years.

“I would love to go back to the Philippines. It’s been a long time, but I’d love to fight in front of my fellow Filipinos,” Climaco shared.

As Climaco prepares for ONE 168: Denver, he carries the hopes of the Filipino community with him, ready to honor his roots and showcase his fighting spirit on the global stage.
