DPWH issues health and safety policy for visitors

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has come-up with guidelines in accepting Central Office visitors to make the workplace safe and possibly mitigate and suppress transmission of COVID-19.

With the transition of National Capital Region to general community quarantine (GCQ), the DPWH management will implement an interim protocol for visitors of DPWH Central Office in Port Area, Manila to ensure the welfare and safety of employees and transacting public.

Based on a memorandum issued by DPWH Undersecretary for Support Services Ardeliza R. Medenilla, only confirmed visitors will be allowed to proceed to specific office of the Department.

Undersecretary Medenilla said that the following guidelines for visitors are pursuant to Department Order No. 34 s. 2020 issued by Secretary Mark A. Villar entitled “Basic Hygiene, Workplace Sanitation and Social Distancing Measures to be Observed in the Workplace.”

All visitors must download the Visitor Screening Questionnaire from the DPWH website at http://www.dpwh.gov.ph/dpwh/ sites/default/files/051320.pdf and submit the accomplished form to the office concerned at least one (1) day before the scheduled meeting.

Any individual with a temperature of 37.5 °C and above will be advised to leave and transact via telephone or e-mail. All unnecessary visitors and personal visitors in the workplace shall be discouraged.

It is mandatory that all visitors wear a facemask at all times within the establishment. Visitors who do not comply will be denied entry to the office, even with confirmed appointment.

Visitors are discouraged to use office phones, desks, and other work tools or equipment and are required to practice physical distancing of at least one (1) meter away from other people.

Those who may be tested positive for COVID-19 within a period of 14 days after their visit with the DPWH must communicate promptly with the DPWH office visited.

All personal product deliveries shall not be allowed to enter office premises. Employees with deliveries shall personally receive their orders at the office entrance and observe guidelines on hygiene and physical distancing. (DPWH)
