Filming for The Mandalorian season 2 wrapped up some weeks ago, before the coronavirus lockdown in Hollywood. Now it can be told that some new characters are joining the second season and two will be played by Michael Biehn and Rosario Dawson.

Biehn, the Terminator actor, will be a bounty hunter in The Mandalorian season 2. His character has ties to The Mandalorian but it’s not clear if he’s an ally or a foe.

Last seen in the recent Terminator movie with director James Cameron, Biehn played Kyle Reese, the father of John Conner. He also starred in the movie Tombstone, Aliens and Planet Terror.

Dawson, on the other hand, will play Ahsoka Tano, a familiar character in the Star Wars universe. In the animated series, Ahsoka Tano was Anakin Skywalker’s padawan.

Reports have it that Dawson previously discussed about doing the character in 2017. The alien from Togruta has head tails and large montrals, with a colorful appearance.

The Mandalorian headlines Pedro Pascal and also stars Gina Carano, Werner Herzog, Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte and Omid Atabahi. The show was created and written by Avengers star Jon Favreau.

Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow directed episodes in the first season, which is currently streaming on Disney Plus. Incidentally, Disney Plus has been launched in the U.K. with The Mandalorian as its flagship series.

The official synopsis of The Mandalorian:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Disney has yet to announce when the second season will begin streaming on its platform.
