According to We Got This Covered, Carrey is set to do some voice work as The Mask for its CGI recreation. Apparently, he will play as one of the referees of the basketball game featuring LeBron James.
Sequel questions were raised early this year after Carrey’s latest movie, Sonic the Hedgehog, hit theaters. Carrey played the villain in the movie that showcased his extremely rambunctious persona.
Apparently, Carrey once said that he’ll only do a sequel to The Mask if a visionary filmmaker will be up for it as well. There are rumors that Warner Bros is setting up a franchise with the actor but it has yet to progress to a full-blown project.

In the film, Carrey played Stanley Ipkiss, a down on his luck banker who discovers a mask that turns him into a superhero gangster. The actor earned a Golden Globe nomination for playing the character. A sequel titled Son of the Mask hit theaters in 2005 with Jamie Kennedy but received less box office recognition than the Carrey movie.
