Josh Harnett is joining Kevin Hart in the upcoming series “Die Hart” to be released in the streaming platform Quibi. The actor will play a fictionalized version of himself, who is also a former alum of an action school.
“Die Hart” is a story about Hart, who also plays a fictionalized version of himself. Tired of being the comedic sidekick, he gets his wish when a famous director offers him his dream – to be a leading man action star.
But there’s a catch: Hart must first train at the world’s greatest action star school, run by a lunatic. Pushed to his limits by this action school coach and a tough-minded rival student, Hart must survive a series of hilarious, over-the-top action sequences and face his fears if he wants to achieve his dream and land the role of a lifetime.
Hartnett is also returning to the action school and will be part of Hart’s training. Prior to this series’ release, the actor will be seen first in the Spectrum gothic drama series “Paradise Lost” opposite Bridget Regan. The show will begin airing in April.
Also joining “Die Hart” is John Travolta, who runs the action school. This will be the actor’s first TV role since playing Robert Shapiro in “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” where he was nominated for an Emmy.
The series will begin filming in Atlanta this month. Hart is producing the show.
“I couldn’t be more excited to bring big action and even bigger laughs to a new audience through this partnership between Quibi and Laugh Out Loud,” said Hart. “Our teams are working together to create something truly unique and I can’t wait for viewers to see it all unfold.”
