‘Supernatural’ Star Jared Padalecki to Star in ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’ Reboot
Jared Padalecki has snag his next project after Supernatural heads to its final season this fall. The actor will headline the reboot of the 1990s crime drama Walker, Texas Ranger, which previously aired on CBS.
A Texas native himself, Padalecki will also serve as one of the show’s executive producers. The series will likely air on The CW, the actor’s home for the last 15 years while working on Supernaturals with Jensen Ackles.
The show will feature Padalecki as Cordell Walker. Walker, Texas Ranger, which will be updated by writer Anne Fricke, is expected to be part of Fall TV 2020 slate. The full logline of the show is below:
“Walker, Texas Ranger will explore morality, family, and rediscovering our lost common ground. At the center of the series is Cordell Walker (Padalecki), a man finding his way back to his family while investigating crime in the state’s most elite unit.
Our broken widower and father of two returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years for a high profile case – only to discover that there’s even more work to be done at home. In a nod to the original series, Walker and his new partner — one of the only women in Texas Rangers’ history — are the modern day heroes our world needs, following their own moral code to fight for what’s right, regardless of the rules.a man finding his way back to his family while investigating crime in the state’s most elite unit.
